We produced a documentary about the tragic naval engagement occurred at night between Italian Navy and Mediterranean Fleet during the Second World War in the opens sea of Cape Matapan. The British, for a series of fortuitous coincidences, destroy and sink five Italian ships within a few minutes. On that night a sailor aboard the heavy-cruiser "Fiume", before dying, wrote a message to his mother and entrusted it to the sea into a bottle. The message was found 11 years later, thousands miles away. This was the last echo of one of the greatest tragedies of the sea during the World War II.
Digital reconstructions and exclusive witnesses tell a story that should not be forgotten.
